XP concerns with Modbus TCP Server
Posted: 28 Jul 06 10:15 AM
I am having a problem with earlier version of Wonderware (7.1) starting and running the Modbus TCP I/O server using Windows XP Pro SP2. Services won't start this saying there are dependencies.... then will error out. Do I need an update or do I have to run v 7.1 on something other than XP? The non-Ethernet servers seem to start and run fine.

Wondorware InTouch v7.1 is not supported on XP at all.  You will need to upgrade to at least v7.11 Patch6, preferabley to v9.5 patch2.  Or you can downgrade your OS to Windows 2000.

Also, running the MBENET I/O Server as a service is not supported in XP.  You will have to run it as a normal application.

In order to remove it from trying to run as a service you will need to perform a registry edit.

start ~> run ~> regedit

HKLM/software/wonderware/MBENET_IOServer

NTService set to 0

Good luck
