Bristol BSAP
Posted: 23 Aug 07 7:53 AM
I have try to connect Bristol Babcock DPC3330 With Universal Server, but it always failed. I use IP connection on DPC3330 and Universal Server. I checked the connection between PC and DPC3330 using OpenBSI v4.2, and it was successful? Is there any step that i have been missed? I use TCP/IP connection and the port is 1234. Please help

You have to select a Dynamic UDP circuit type in the USS to connect via IP to a Bristol RTU.

When you configure the Dynamic UDP circuit, be sure to enter the IP address of the PC running the USS in the Local Host field and 1234 for the Port number.

When you configure the device in USS go to the Circuit Options tab and click on the Circuit Options button to enter the IP address for the Bristol RTU(end point) and Port number (1234).

Mr. Howard,
Thank you for your information, it seems i had wrong configuration.
I have another question, how to check the configuration using Dynamic UDP, and is it ACCOL file necessary for the configuration? Is it possible if i do not have ACCOL file, the configuration will work?

Honestly i dont have ACCOL file for my configuration, but i know the data items of the RTU.

Thank You

You do not need the ACCOL file for the Universal IO Server configuration. All you need to know is the Bristol signal names. A good test to check the configuration would be to connect with an OPC client and request the time ( #TIME.007 ) from the RTU.
